I studied that message 5 times afterward.
Even to this day, 24 May 2020, I remember that message. As if it was yesterday.
I was starting my own business part-time in early 2019. I was working with a marketing mentor company at the time. A mentor company that taught you that politics, sex, and religion should not have a place in content creation when it comes to online marketing.
That statement never sat right with me. And it was that message from Pastor Allan Bagg, on 14 April 2019, that started everything for me. That was a profound message. I would never understood why, until now.
On 01 Aug 2019, I stepped out of a 19+ year corporate career to pursue my dream to help other people. Today, I’m a successful transformational coach leading the way for others to believe in themselves.
Through my own personal development and training in preparation to run my business, I’ve come to learn that your mind plays a pivotal role in how you attract abundance.
And no, it’s not only about positive affirmations and citing some cool bible verses. Many people talk about how successful they are going to be one day. But your mind doesn’t understand future tense. Your mind only understands the present tense. In fact, your mind only has one job, and one job alone. To do what it thinks you want. Did you get that?
When you have a specific experience, you have a physical reaction in your body. E.g. you get nervous and your body will release chemicals that start a physical reaction in your body. Your heart race. You breathe fast. Your palms become sweaty and you start to stutter. That’s a physical reaction that is caused by stress hormones.
When you attach emotion to an experience or event, it becomes a memory. Every time you play the memory in your mind, your body releases stress hormones and you start to experience the same physical reactions. Your body reacts to what you’re thinking. You experience the same increase in heart rate, sweaty palms, just by thinking about it. But wait…it’s actually an experience from the past that has already happened? Which means your body has no idea whether you’re currently IN the situation, or whether you’re just THINKING about it.
OK. So what exactly is my point? My point is that is science. However, the Bible is also full of verses about why we do not need to worry about the past or the future. And that you should live in the present.
I hope, through my own experience in learning more about the heart-mind connection, that I can show you how beautifully God’s people were created. How much power we have. How close our miracles are.
But yet, we make it so complicated. I hope, that through this, I can give my thoughts on how science does have a place in the bible and vice versa. God is not mysterious. The Holy Spirit is not mysterious.
God says in his word in Jeremiah 33:3 (NIV)
Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.
That “unsearchable things” is also being referred to as “great and mighty things”, “great and incomprehensible things”, “wondrous secrets”, “hidden things of which you are unaware” in other translations.
The bottom line, you can know things that God knows. Just ask Him. But you have to put in some work as well. You cannot just sit on your rusty-dusty and think “your ship will come in one day”.
Research has shown that the heart communicates to the brain in four major ways: neurologically (through the transmission of nerve impulses), biochemically (via hormones and neurotransmitters), biophysically (through pressure waves) and energetically (through electromagnetic field interactions).
Is it a coincidence that the bible says in Proverbs 4:23:
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
Nope, I don’t think so.
I’m no scientist. I’m not a theologist. I’m just a person who have an interest in real science and who studies the word of God, so that I can live a fulfilled life.
Who knows what my life’s going to be like a year from now?
What I do know, is that I’m willing to take the risk.
